• The ”Building for the Third Century,” a 530,000 square foot, state-of-the-art
clinical facility slated to open in 2011.
• The Shapiro Cardiovascular Center, newly opened to provide enhanced, patient-centric care in heart disease.

• Medical Device Plug and Play, an initiative to advance seamless communication between medical devices.
• Safe, wireless medical device implementations
• Integration of medical devices into IT networks, a collaboration with our IT colleagues |

• “Smart Pumps,” a concept developed by an MGH BioMedical Engineering team, are being further developed with the goal of failure-free drug administration.
